States call for the decriminalization of the crime of witchcraft in the Central African Republic.

During the recent Universal Periodic Review of Central African Republic held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on 04 May 2009, several countries called on the Government of the Central African Republic to take steps to tackle the issue of crimes against people accused of being witches. In particular, States such as the UK, France and Slovenia called on the Central African Republic to decriminalize the crime of witchcraft.
