Witchcraft allegations: a protection concern for UNHCR?

The Policy Development and Evaluation Service and the Community Development and Gender Equality and Children Section are jointly launching an awareness-raising event dedicated to discussing witchcraft allegations and their relevance to UNHCR.

Gary Foxcroft, Programme Director of the NGO Stepping Stones Nigeria will show a documentary film, “Saving Africa’s Witch Children” and give a presentation on his experiences with witchcraft allegations in Africa.

The PDES Head of Service Jeff Crisp and the CDGECS Children advisor Ron Pouwels will afterwards lead a discussion on how this issue is relevant to UNHCR and what role UNHCR can play in putting an end to these human rights abuses.

The event will take place in the UNHCR Visitor Centre, Rue de Montbrillant 94, on the 6th of April between 16.30- 18.00
